Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bondigi Games, a trade name of Ethan McCosby, an individual ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the video game BEATSHIFT ARENA and its related online services (collectively, the "Game").

By using the Game, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Game. This Policy is incorporated by reference into our End User License Agreement (EULA).

1. Information We Collect

a. Account and Identity Data.

  • Steam ID, Steam display name (persona), avatar, and Steam-reported country code, provided through the Steam platform when you launch the Game.
  • If you create or sign in to a Bondigi Games account: your name, email address, date of birth, account identifier, and authentication tokens, processed via our backend (OAuth). Steam sign-in transmits a Steam authentication ticket to our backend and to our networking provider.

b. Gameplay and Analytics Data.

  • We use Unity Analytics (Unity Technologies) to collect gameplay events and statistics, including: songs played (artist, title, duration, notes-per-second, file size, play counts); match results and per-player match summaries (score, kills, deaths, assists, damage, accuracy, and similar gameplay stats); match join/leave, deaths, upgrades, and load times; changes you make to game settings and match configuration (setting key and old/new value); and content download/upload events (source, content ID, file size, success).
  • Technical and performance data, including frame rate, memory and GPU usage snapshots, and error reports (error message, log type, and a session error counter).
  • Approximate geographic region, derived from your Steam-reported country code, used to apply the correct privacy/consent defaults (see Section 7).

c. Multiplayer and Network Data.

  • Data required to host and join online matches, including session identifiers, region, player counts, connection/NAT type, and in-match player state. Online multiplayer is provided using Photon Fusion (Exit Games).

d. User-Generated Content.

  • Custom content you create, import, or share (such as arena maps, playlists, and custom sounds) and associated metadata. When you choose to share such content, it is uploaded to and distributed via our content delivery network (Cloudflare R2).

e. Content You Load.

  • The Game can load local files you supply (such as music and beatmap files). These are processed on your device to provide gameplay and are not uploaded to us unless you explicitly share them.

f. Diagnostic Reports.

  • If the Game crashes or you submit a diagnostic report, we collect a report that may include: a session identifier, your account/analytics identifier, system information (operating system, CPU, RAM, GPU, graphics API, screen resolution), application version and build identifier, current match state, your current game settings and match configuration, and a truncated copy of the application log. These reports are transmitted to a private channel monitored by the developer for debugging.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and the Game is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

2. How We Use Information

We use the information to:

  • operate, provide, and maintain the Game and its online features;
  • authenticate you and manage your account and parties/lobbies;
  • match players, run multiplayer sessions, and display leaderboards/scoreboards;
  • analyze usage to fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features;
  • enforce our EULA, prevent cheating and abuse, and ensure security; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of: performance of a contract (providing the Game), our legitimate interests (improving and securing the Game), consent (where required), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • Platform and infrastructure providers that help us run the Game, only as needed to provide the service (see Section 5 for the list).
  • Other players, who may see your public profile information (such as display name) and in-match activity during multiplayer.
  • Legal and safety, where we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Game.
  • Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Third-Party Services

The Game relies on third-party services and our own infrastructure, which have their own privacy policies, including:

  • Photon / Exit Games — multiplayer networking — Photon Privacy & Cookie Policy
  • Unity Technologies (Unity Analytics) — gameplay analytics, performance, and error data — Unity Privacy Policy
  • Cloudflare (R2) — storage and delivery of shared user-generated content — Cloudflare Privacy Policy

  • Bondigi Games backend (api.bondigi.com) — account, authentication, and related services (operated by us)
  • Discord — receipt of crash and diagnostic reports via a private channel — Discord Privacy Policy

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Game and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Account and analytics data are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, then deleted or anonymized.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email in Section 11. You may also manage some data through your Steam account settings. We will respond as required by applicable law.

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" (we do not sell personal information).

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. These countries may have different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be indicated in-game or on our store/website page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
